NewsNation host Chris Cuomo co-anchored the network’s live election night coverage on Tuesday and was on hand when the New York mayoral race was called for state Rep. Zohran Mamdani .
Mamdani defeated Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa and former Governor Andrew Cuomo , who ran as an independent after losing to Mamdani in the Democratic primary in June.
For obvious reasons, Chris Cuomo has largely avoided covering his brother’s mayoral campaign, but on Tuesday, he was at the center of NewsNation’s election coverage when the network and Decision Desk HQ called the race. The network’s Connell McShane delivered the news.
