Chapelle junior Victoria McCann is a hard-swinging outside hitter capable of putting the volleyball down with tremendous force, and when she’s not playing on the front line, teammate Audrey Dubuc can bring another set of skills.
The duo showed as much during a three-set sweep of Hahnville in the first round of the LHSAA Division I playoffs.
McCann (12 kills, two blocks) and Dubuc (13 kills, one block, nine digs) helped carry No. 10 seeded Chapelle to a 25-20, 25-10, 25-10 victory Tuesday that put the Chipmunks one win away from making a fifth consecutive trip to the state tournament at the Cajundome in Lafayette.
The pair has played on varsity together since they were freshmen, and each has grown into their leading roles.
