Political reactions were mixed in and around Quinte after Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne presented his first federal government budget on Tuesday in Ottawa.
‘Budget 2025: Canada Strong’ delivered in the House of Commons calls for $141 billion in new spending and a $78.3 billion deficit for the fiscal year ahead, nearly double that of the $42 billion deficit by the former Liberal government in 2024.
