Challenger Jayme McFadden beat one incumbent and will join two others who were reelected to the Altoona City Council.

McFadden, a newcomer to the race, received 23% of the votes, ousting incumbent city council member Jeremy Boka, according to unofficial results.

Incumbents Scott Duer, who garnered 30% of the votes, and Josh R. Dunwoody, who received about 34%, were reelected to serve on the council, unofficial results reported.

McFadden, the only candidate to respond to the Des Moines Register's questionnaire, said he ran for city council because it needed "fresh eyes and ears."
