Pennsylvania voters on Tuesday chose to keep three Democratic Supreme Court justices on the bench, a win for state and national progressive groups in what became a uniquely expensive and high-profile front in an ongoing political battle over the country’s most contentious issues.

Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty and David Wecht were retained for another 10-year term, securing the court’s Democratic 5-2 majority, though Justice Donohue must retire in 2027, when she reaches the age of 75. The Associated Press called their wins a little before 10 p.m. with more than half of the total vote counted.
