SOUTH KINGSTOWN — Tyler Cochran made the most of his return to college basketball.

Rhode Island’s latest men’s basketball transfer, in for his graduate year, didn’t play last season with Minnesota. He spent the 2024-25 season rehabbing a broken toe, but it didn’t show in Rhode Island’s season-opening win on Monday night.

Cochran made his first two shots from the floor, provided all-around play from the wing and finished with a team-high 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals in Rhode Island’s 93-62 win against Stetson at the Ryan Center.
