MONROE, La. (KNOE) - J.P. Morgan Chase partnered with the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana to prepare meals as many SNAP recipients have their benefits cut off due to the government shutdown.

Chase says many in the region are in food deserts and it is important to give back in times of need.

They also say that 45,000 meals were packed today.

“We don’t have to wait on our government to help our neighbors,” Chase Communication President Latetao Hutchinson said. “We can all be the change that we want to see in this world. So, let’s not wait! If we want to give back, if you see a neighbor that’s in need, you know, pick up the mantle and do the work.”
