VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A winner has been declared in the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s race, as Colin Stolle defeated Suzanne Seidel Richmond.

Stolle had about 52% of the vote as of 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, with 47.5% of the vote for Suzanne Seidel Richmond.

Republican Colin Stolle has held the position for the past 12 years. During the campaign, he touted his experience with the office.

He said he worked his way up as a prosecutor in the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, working on the property crime team and the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Team. He was promoted to chief deputy commonwealth’s attorney and received the Robert F. Horan Award, awarded by the Virginia Association of Commonwealth’s Attorneys, in 2021.
