In Tuesday’s general election, Jimmy Doud, Roger Sikes, and Donald Krause were selected to fill three vacancies on the Brookesmith Special Utility District Board of Directors, according to the unofficial Brown County Elections Office report.

Doud received 28.92% (551) of the vote followed by Sikes with 27.61% (526) and Krause with 24.83% (473). James Towery was the odd man out in the four-person race with 18.64% (355) of the vote.

In Blanket, residents approved a 1 percent local sales and use tax increase to provide revenue for the City to be used for maintenance and repair of municipal streets. Those in favor were 65.7% (113) while those opposed were 34.3% (59).
