Manlius, NY – John Deer, a Democrat who first won the supervisor seat four years ago, beat a challenge from Republican Danny Liedka, a former county lawmaker and village mayor.
Deer got 4,563 votes, or 52.5%, according to unofficial results.
Liedka got 4,098 votes, or 47.22%. Liedka conceded the race.
“I received a call from Danny,” Deer said. “He was very gracious in conceding. We had a good conversation and will work together to bring smart development to Manlius and keep Manlius moving forward.”
Liedka said he was surprised by the outcome.
“I ran the best campaign I ever did,” the Republican said. ““It’s all Trump. Look at the whole county. It hurt all of us. What goes on in Washington trickles down to the local elections.”
The vote Tuesday further solidified Manlius as a Democrat
