Australian solo backpacker Duncan McNaught has shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, in which he speaks about the overwhelming generosity he received from strangers during his trip to India.

Calling India’s hospitality “unmatched like any other in the world,” Duncan said the warmth he received left him deeply moved.

In the emotional clip, he recounted a man, whom he had met just a few days earlier, went out of his way to make him feel at home. “I met Gaurav three days ago. Three days ago. He took me and fed me. I went to a wedding function with their family. He took me to the Golden Temple. Now he’s got me a bus to Jaipur.”

The video also featured glimpses of his journey, including sharing meals with locals, attending a vibrant wedding, visiting the serene Golden Temple in Amritsar ,
