A new law aimed at improving fire safety in historic buildings is to be named in remembrance of a young couple killed after a blaze ripped through a five star Scots hotel .
Sprinklers will become a mandatory requirement for traditional properties being converted into hotels in Scotland if legislation is passed by MSPs.
The law change follows recommendations from the fatal accident inquiry into the Cameron House fire in December 2017 which caused the deaths of Simon Midgley and Richard Dyson.
More than 200 guests were staying in the renowned hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond when an initial fire alarm sounded at 6.40am.
Firefighters arrived within 10 minutes to find a "well-developed" fire in the mansion, near Balloch in West Dunbartonshire.
