With it now happening 14 seasons in a row, reaching the state playoffs is standard for Columbia River girls soccer.
But it has been since 2018 that Columbia River has won a district title, a drought the Rapids want to end.
Columbia River will get that chance after a dominant 5-0 victory over W.F. West in the district semifinals on Tuesday.
The win clinched a Class 2A state berth and sent Columbia River to the district title match, which the Rapids will host Saturday against Hockinson.
Columbia River (18-0-1) rolled through the regular season, its only non-victory coming in a scoreless draw against Class 4A state playoff-bound Skyview.
Tuesday’s decisive home win against an opponent from Chehalis that was 13-2-1 showed the Rapids are firing on all cylinders.
