Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected mayor of New York City, launched a no-holds-barred attack on US President Donald Trump as he delivered an electric victory speech in which he cast his win as a new "dawn" on NYC. The Democratic socialist, in a 30-minute-long speech, reminded Trump that the city that "gave rise to him" could also defeat him.

In a direct message to the US President, a vocal critic of Mamdani, the New York mayor said, "Donald Trump, since I know you are watching, I have four words for you: Turn the volume up."

"After all, if anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him," he further said. - Ends
