A kabaddi player was shot dead in Punjab’s Ludhiana district, marking yet another incident of targeted violence in the state’s sports circles within a week.
The victim, Gurvinder Singh, was gunned down in the Samarala block area on Monday.
Shortly after the murder, a post surfaced on social media under the name of Anmol Bishnoi, claiming responsibility on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The post alleged that the killing was carried out by gang associates identified as Karan Madpur and Tej Chak, while Hari Boxer and Arzu Bishnoi also claimed involvement.
SECOND KABADDI MURDER IN A WEEK
The latest killing comes close on the heels of another murder in Ludhiana district. On 31 October, Tejpal Singh, a 25-year-old kabaddi player, was beaten and shot dead in broad daylight in Jagraon.
