BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Each year, Western Kentucky University invites national speakers to campus for students and community members to learn from specialists, authors and more on a variety of topics.
Tuesday evening, nationally recognized author Dr. Jean Twenge spoke on how changes in technology shape each generation.
One topic discussed was the use of school laptops and how this technology impacts the current generation of students.
“If you’re 12, why would you be focusing on your math homework if you can watch The Rookie," said Twenge. “I mean, it’s hard enough for adults. It’s really unfair to kids. I think sometimes we see it as an adversarial thing of the adults versus the kids, but we’re being unfair to kids that we expect them to be able to focus under those circumstances
