Western Australia was slammed with thunder and lightning overnight, but sadly the wet weather isn’t over yet!
A staggering 11.6mm of rainfall poured over the Perth metropolitan area overnight, as lightning lit up the night sky.
Multiple Perth residents took to social media throughout Tuesday night to share images and reactions to the storm, with several reporting “deafening” cracks of thunder nearby.
While the sky may seem clearer on Wednesday morning, the Bureau of Meteorology warns WA’s stormy skies are far from over.
Meteorologist Angus Hines said the low-pressure trough will continue to move over the State, bringing more severe thunderstorms and showers in the afternoon and evening.
