SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - A casino and entertainment district could be heading to the Ozarks.

The Osage Nation is working with the federal government to get the land put into a trust that will allow it.

“Our goal is to make sure the City of Lake Ozark comes out ahead. They’ve been working towards that goal with us as well,” said City of Lake Ozark Mayor David Ridgely.

Four years ago, the Osage Nation announced plans to build a new entertainment district featuring a hotel, entertainment, restaurants, and a casino in the City of Lake Ozark. The tribe purchased land and is working with the federal government to allow gambling.

If approved, the $100 million project will be built near here on the corner of Osage Beach Parkway and Bagnell Dam Boulevard. With that large complex comes the need
