Bhubaneswar: Kartika Purnima festival was celebrated with enthusiasm and devotion across Odisha on Wednesday as people sailed miniature boats in rivers, ponds and other water bodies reliving the state’s glorious maritime tradition.
Thousands of people gathered at Gadagadia Ghat in Cuttack and Bindu Sagar tank in Bhubaneswar before daybreak to participate in ‘Boita Bandana’ traditions on the occasion. Amid enthusiasm, they sailed miniature boats. ADVERTISEMENT
Similar congregations were also seen in Puri. Devotees also visited Shree Jagannath Temple in the pilgrim town to witness the ‘Rajadhiraja Besha’ of the sibling deities.
