KINGSTON, N.Y. — Democrat Lara Olivieri has become Ulster County’s newest Family Court judge.

Olivieri ran unopposed for the seat now held by outgoing Family Court Judge Anthony McGinty. She captured 35,417

votes in Tuesday’s election, according to unofficial results from the Ulster County Board of Elections.

According to the Kingston Democratic Committee website, Olivieri is “a seasoned court attorney and dedicated public servant” currently serving as the principal law clerk to Family Court Judge Sarah Rakov.

A lifelong county resident, Olivieri has served as an administrative law judge for the state Department of Environmental Conservation, an assistant county attorney for Ulster County assigned to Family Court and senior attorney for the state Department of Environmental Conservatio
