COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Coloradans are projected to pass two ballot propositions related to free school meals.
Propositions LL and MM build on the Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) program that was created by Proposition FF back in 2022.
After the passage of FF and creation of the program, state lawmakers said the taxpayers funding it--those who make $300,000 or more per year-- contributed an extra $12.4 million. LL asked voters whether this should go toward the HSMA program or be refunded to the taxpayers.
Proposition MM asked voters whether those same taxpayers should contribute more to pay for meals for all children, not just low income. It also asked voters whether that money from the additional tax revenue should be used to support SNAP.
On Tuesday, both propositions
