Narcan nasal spray is now available from a vending machine in Edinburg inside the Hidalgo County Adult Probation Office.

The machine was put there by Behavioral Health Solutions, a Rio Grande Valley based non-profit dedicated to preventing and reducing drug use.

The machine is available to anyone and the nasal spray is free.

"One thing to highlight about this is that it's not only for illicit drugs, but also for our prescription medication at home," Behavioral Health Solutions Region 11 Program Director Megan Perez said.

The machine holds almost 100 boxes. It has already been restocked four times since it went up three weeks ago.
