LAKE LINDEN — The Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes were named the Team of the Year as the Copper Mountain Conference announced its postseason awards Monday.
Lakes leader Joslynn Perala was named Coach of the Year, and junior Ashlyn Steves was named Defensive Player of the Year. Wakefield-Marenisco’s Noelle Grace was named Most Valuable Player.
Five of six members of the Elite Team played for Copper Country schools.
Steves and teammate Cleo Milkey, a senior, were both honored. Dollar Bay-Tamarack City senior Kiera Isaacson, Baraga junior Elisa Delene, and Ewen-Trout Creek senior Emma Besonen were also named to the conference’s top team.
Emma Besonen and her younger sister Bree Besonen, a sophomore, were both named to the Porcupine Division First Team.
