Results coming out of Santa Clara County late Tuesday show overwhelming support for Measure A.
If approved, the measure adopts a five-eighths cent general sales tax for five years. Supporters say the funding will help soften federal cuts to the county.
A “Yes” vote on Measure A will provide about $330 million annually to help lessen the blow of a projected $1 billion loss in cuts from what President Donald Trump calls his “big beautiful bill” passed in July.
Money generated through Measure A would help support critical local services such as trauma, emergency room, mental health, and public safety, according to supporters.
Opponents say Measure A is not the answer.
The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters say election results will be updated once each day starting Wednesday.
