The Sikkim Government’s decision to shift the venue of the upcoming four-day International Tourism Mart from Pelling in West Sikkim to Gangtok has triggered sharp criticism from the Citizen Action Party (CAP), which has accused the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) government of neglecting tourism development in the state.
Talking to reporters on Tuesday, CAP President, Ganesh Rai alleged that the SKM government has “destroyed Sikkim’s tourism prospects” by failing to provide even basic infrastructure in one of the state’s most popular tourist destinations.
