As Democrats Zohran Mamdani , Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill swept the Mayoral and gubernatorial races in New York, Virginia and New Jersey, respectively, Indian-origin Republican Vivek Ramaswamy had a blunt message for his fellow party colleagues.

Without mincing words, the former presidential hopeful admitted, "We got our a***s handed to us."

In a video posted on X, the tech entrepreneur, who launched his campaign for the 2026 Ohio governor’s race earlier this year, said there were “two key lessons” for Republicans to learn from Tuesday night’s defeats.

"Lesson one, our side needs to focus on affordability. Make the American dream affordable," he said while urging to bring down the costs of electricity, housing, healthcare and grocery costs.
