An FIR has been registered against Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring for allegedly making casteist remarks against former Union Home Minister late Buta Singh. The case was filed based on a complaint by Buta Singh’s son, Sarabjot Singh Sidhu.
The Punjab Congress chief has been booked under Sections 353 and 196 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, along with Sections 3(1)(u) and 3(1)(v) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
Warring had allegedly made a remark about the skin colour of the late politician while campaigning in support of the Congress candidate for the Tarn Taran assembly bypoll, scheduled to take place on November 11.
After facing flak, the Congress leader on Monday tendered an “unconditional apology" and said
