India and Portugal have agreed to further strengthen their partnership across key areas, including trade, defence, renewable energy and education, as both nations mark the 50th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic ties this year.
The commitment came during the 5th India-Portugal Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) held in Lisbon on November 3. The talks were co-chaired by Sibi George, Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs, and Helena Malcata, Director General for Foreign Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal.
Both sides reviewed the full range of bilateral relations, covering political, economic, and cultural cooperation, and agreed to expedite discussions on pending bilateral agreements for early conclusion.
