Better be careful driving along U.S. Route 30 and Interstate 77 this time of year — especially in Stark County.

Deer-related crashes rise in November across Ohio because of peak deer breeding season and the end of daylight saving time, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Stark County had the most deer-related crashes in the state from 2020 to 2025, with 3,235 accidents. Richland County was second with 2,820. The patrol also reported that Route 30 — which runs through Stark and Richland — and Interstate 77 — which also bisects Stark — experienced the most crashes over that time period with 1,702 and 1,544, respectively.
