Zohran Mamdani’s win in New York City’s mayoral race is a political earthquake. The 34-year-old democratic socialist defeated independent former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa for the seat. He is also the city's first Muslim mayor.
