The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology is receiving more than $2 million in state funding to assist with agricultural and forestry-related projects. The financial support will be allocated from the Alabama Research and Development Enhancement Fund.

Along with Huntsville's HudsonAlpha, both Auburn University and the University of Alabama are receiving millions in financial support from the state for similar projects.

HudsonAlpha president Neil Lamb praised the new funding and noted its significance for the institute.
