CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It wasn’t always pretty, but Duke basketball got it done, taking down Texas 75-60 in the Dick Vitale Invitational to start the 2025-26 season in the win column.

The Blue Devils entered the second period trailing by one, going on to outscore the Longhorns 43-27 across the final 20 minutes to claim victory. Duke finished the night shooting 42.3% (22-of-52) from the field and 39.1% (9-of-23) from 3. Isaiah Evans led Duke with 23 points while Cameron Boozer added a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Texas finished the night shooting 32.2% (19-of-59) from the field and 29.4% (5-of-17) from 3. Dailyn Swain led the Longhorns with 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting while Jordan Pope added 15.
