LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Lansing Area Veterans Coalition is hosting an event to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
On Wednesday, November 5, the coalition will hold a community-wide event focused on suicide awareness and prevention among those who have served our country.
According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, nearly 17 veterans die by suicide every day in the United States.
During the event, families will be connected with valuable resources and support services.
Additionally, social workers will receive training on how to support veterans and their families in need effectively.
