FIRST FREEZE OF THE SEASON: The first big freeze threat of the season will impact Alabama early next week.

We’ve declared First Alert Weather Days for Monday and Tuesday mornings. Temperatures will drop into the lower 30s Monday morning, and many will be in the mid-to-upper 20s Tuesday morning. This is your First Alert to plan; bring in pets and cover sensitive plants.

THE NEXT 24 HOURS: In the short term, we have another cool start to the day. Temperatures are mainly in the 40s under a mostly fair sky.

On Wednesday afternoon, highs will return to the mid-to-upper 70s with a good supply of sunshine. Expect another cool night.
