The stage is set for the first phase of the crucial Assembly elections in Bihar on Thursday, in which more than 3.75 crore voters will decide the political fortunes of 1,314 candidates, including 122 women.
The Election Commission has completed all preparations for polling in 121 assembly constituencies, of which 102 are general seats and 19 are reserved for Scheduled Castes. These 121 constituencies are spread across 18 districts, namely Madhepura, Saharsa, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagaria, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Patna, Bhojpur, and Buxar.
