CNN’s Van Jones Trashes Mamdani’s ‘Sharp’-Toned Speech: ‘Missed an Opportunity’

CNN’s Van Jones trashed New York City’s mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani for revealing a “little bit of a character switch” as he lambasted his victory speech on Tuesday as “sharp” in tone and for “missing an opportunity” to draw in more supporters.

The newly elected mayor roared to the top of the polls late Tuesday in a historic electoral win, declaring his victory “a mandate for a new kind of politics” after defeating independent Andrew Cuomo by eight points.

But moments after Mamdani spoke, Jones argued the man on stage bore little resemblance to the candidate many voters thought they had been signing up for.
