SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - Louisiana Congressman Cleo Fields is hosting a series of town halls addressing the government shutdown.
Congressman Fields will focus on resident's SNAP benefits since 18% of Louisiana's population relies on the program, according to the Food Nutrition Service under the USDA. Fields said he was happy to see the government of Louisiana provide $150-million to pay 25% of SNAP benefits every week while the government is shutdown.
He said people are invited to come to these town hall to share their concerns and he will answer any questions.
