KEY WEST, Fla. (WFLA) -- Deputies in the Florida Keys warned residents and visitors of fake money circulating in the area.
In a social media post, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said fake $100 bills meant to be used in movies have been found in the Lower Keys and Key West.
The fake money may look legitimate at first glance, but it is marked with "for motion picture purposes" and "not legal tender."
The Key West Police Department issued a similar warning regarding fake $20 bills in the area.
Law enforcement asked residents and visitors to look over any bills they receive to make sure they are legitimate.
