Tesco has explained why some customers might notice a £120 charge appearing on their bank statements. Numerous Tesco locations across the UK feature petrol stations, allowing shoppers to conveniently fill up before or after buying their groceries.

When using the Pay at Pump facility, Tesco applies a temporary £120 pre-authorisation to confirm sufficient funds are available, though this isn't the actual charge. Motorists can purchase up to £120 worth of fuel through Pay at Pump, and must use a card for payment, as contactless payments aren't accepted.
