A Florida mother is accused of beating her daughter because the girl was "being disrespectful lately" and "refused to do her chores," authorities say.

Arieauna Hall, 39, has been charged with child abuse without great bodily harm, Miami-Dade County jail records show. The incident occurred on Monday morning.

Hall had told her daughter and son — whose ages are unclear — to do chores around their Homestead home, according to an arrest affidavit reviewed by Law&Crime. The girl was assigned to clean the bathroom, but she said her mom began pushing her and made threats such as "cutting her hands off."
