Liam

The Long Island community is mourning 15-year-old Liam Delemo, who was fatally stabbed during a party attended by nearly 100 teenagers early this week.

Officers were called to a home on Carlton Road and Avenue C in West Babylon around 10:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, after a fight broke out outside the residence, Suffolk County Police said.

During the altercation, Liam, of West Babylon, was stabbed. He was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The homeowner, Bonnie Miranda, 70, was charged with Suffolk County's Social Host Law and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. On Halloween night, a 51-year-old man and his wife were arrested following a similar party in Dix Hills.

Detectives with the Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad are continuing to investigate Liam's death. No arrests had been announced as of press time.

As police search for answers, Liam’s loved ones are remembering him for his kindness, laughter, and light — especially his best friend, Michael McGraw, who described Liam as “more than a best friend.”

“Liam was more than a best friend, he was a brother to Michael,” reads a GoFundMe launched by Danielle Comparato on behalf of McGraw. “They grew up side by side, sharing countless memories, laughter, and moments that will be cherished forever. Their bond was unbreakable, and the loss of Liam has left an emptiness that words can’t describe.”

“It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the tragic loss of Liam, a beautiful child from West Babylon whose bright spirit touched everyone who knew him,” the fundraiser continued. “To know Liam was to love him — his laughter, his kindness, and his pure heart brought light to all around him.”

The fundraiser, launched for Liam’s parents, Michael and Hope, had raised more than $16,400 as of press time. Donations will help cover funeral costs and time away from work as the family grieves “the unthinkable loss of their beloved son.”

“Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference and show this grieving family that their community stands beside them,” the post says. “May Liam’s light continue to shine through all of us who loved him.”
