HOT SPRINGS - The three-member Hot Springs Town Board will have two new members after a close race among a crowded candidate field.
New board members Lisa Gahagan and Tammy Shelton received the most votes, while incumbent Wendy Stancil finished with just one fewer vote than Shelton.
Gahagan received the most votes, appearing on 156 of 416 ballots, or 28% of ballots cast, according to the North Carolina State Board of Elections website.
