Bhubaneswar: Millet-based foods are emerging as the star attraction at the ongoing Subhadra Shakti Mela being held at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar. From millet poda pitha and kshira gaja to ragi laddus, bajra dosa mix, foxtail noodles, and millet biscuits, the stalls are drawing large crowds eager to taste Odisha’s new wave of nutritious and organic delicacies.
Prepared entirely by women self-help group (SHG) members, the millet products are organically sourced and traditionally processed in rural areas before being given a modern twist. Rich in fiber, protein, iron, calcium, and antioxidants, these “super grains” are known to help control diabetes, improve digestion, and boost immunity, making them increasingly popular among health-conscious consumers.
