WEST LAFAYETTE — Jack Benter woke up Tuesday morning assured of making his Purdue men’s basketball debut that night against Evansville.
He showed up for morning shootaround as the Boilermakers’ backup to Trey Kaufman-Renn — the bridge between All-Big Ten minutes by an All-America candidate. By the end of shootaround, Benter was running plays with the starting lineup.
