OpenAI has launched IndQA, a new benchmark designed to assess how well AI models understand and reason about questions related to Indian culture and everyday life in Indian languages. This benchmark aims to improve AI systems' language capabilities, particularly in understanding context, culture, history, and the things that are important to people where they live.

In a blog post on November 4, the artificial intelligence organisation introduced IndQA, writing, “While our aim is to create similar benchmarks for other languages and regions, India is an obvious starting point.”
