Springfield has earned national recognition as one of America’s premier retirement destinations, ranking sixth on a recent list of the 50 best places to retire in the United States.

The analysis, conducted by Investopedia and Travel + Leisure, praised the Massachusetts city for offering a “big city feel without a big city price tag” while providing an attractive combination of affordability, cultural amenities and healthcare access.
