New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team on winning the ICC Cricket World Cup (Women), calling their performance “outstanding" and “truly world-class" after watching highlights of the final match against South Africa.
Expressing his views on Women in Blue’s clinching the ICC World Cup, the 55-year-old labelled the Indian team as “world class", adding that they “deserved to win" the World Cup. He also said that he would have loved to see New Zealand lift the coveted trophy, but he doesn’t care as long as it is someone who beats Australia.
