Voters in Springfield Township, Mahoning County, have approved a proposed additional 3.5 mill tax for its Fire and EMS Services.
912 votes were received for the levy, and 639 votes against the levy.
The levy is for emergency services for the township, providing funds for full-time, part-time firefighters, emergency medical service, and administration; firefighting equipment and ambulance equipment, including paramedic, or other emergency medical services, operated by a fire department.
The levy will provide approximately $851,668 annually, which will cost property owners $123 for each $100,000 of the appraised value, first due in 2026.
