A mom from Australia couldn't work out what her toddler was doing with her hands after she had finished eating.
After a quick Google search, Kellie, a registered nurse, discovered that it was the American Sign Language (ASL) sign for ‘more’.
"At first, I thought it was [from YouTube series ] Ms. Rachel , but I didn’t think she watched it enough to have learnt that," Kellie told Newsweek .
Kellie, who is also a mom to an 8- and 6-year-old with her husband, said that no one in the house uses sign language.
But everything became clear when Kellie emailed her daughter Sahara’s day care to ask if they had noticed it.
Staff confirmed educators at the day care occasionally use "baby sign"—simple hand gestures adapted from formal sign languages—to help nonverbal toddlers communicate
