WARSAW, Ky. (WXIX) - A Kentucky man will spend over two decades behind bars following his conviction in a substance-related death in Northern Kentucky.

Gallatin County Circuit Court Judge Richard Brueggemann sentenced Norman Maag, of Sparta, to 24 years in jail for trafficking a controlled substance, which led to a resident’s death.

Maag was arrested in August of 2024 and later pleaded guilty to the charges.

He was convicted of one count of reckless homicide, two counts of trafficking in controlled substance less than four grams and one count of trafficking in controlled substance more than four grams.

“It is our hope this conviction helps the family and friends cope in some small way,” the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office wrote online.
